As the arts in our schools begin to disappear at an alarming rate,
parents are looking further afield to
give their children the opportunity to enjoy this much needed education.
Established in 1993, Yew Tree Theatre School has expanded throughout
Kent from a humble start in a
converted barn in Horsmonden to operating at bases in Tunbridge Wells,
Paddock Wood, Crowborough
and Sevenoaks. There are also plans to open new bases in the future.
Our classes include dance, drama and singing and the weekend workshops
run over a three hour
period during normal term time. The three hours are divided into forty-five
minutes of jazz and modern
dance, theatre dance that includes tap and ballet where appropriate
and forty-five minutes each of
drama
and singing all within small classes.
As
part of our commitment to the education process, we also
organise
trips to see local and national shows, which occasionally
include
cast workshops and backstage tours.(*) |
